About Trip

Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a spectacular trek on foot to the South Face of Annapurna I - a pleasant hike through the diverse Nepalese landscape and culture. Starting in the quaint lakeside town of Pokhara. The trail heads to Tikkhedunga and Ghorepani and continues through lush forests and farm-land to narrow gorges overlooked by the mighty Hiunchuli and Machapuchru. (Fishtail Mountain.) During the trek and experience, the sunrise over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges from Poon Hill. A trek to Ghorepani and Poon Hill are known as a stunning sunrise viewpoint of Annapurna Himalayas. Trails give you a cultural experience of Magar and Gurung.

Descending from ABC, you get the opportunity to bath in the natural hot spring at Jhinu danda before returning to Pokhara to regale us with your adventures and achievements in the Annapurna Himalayas.

Trip Highlights

Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes us through beautiful views of mountains in the Annapurna series, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Machhapuchhre etc. Rhododendron forests and terraced fields for a beautiful backdrop during the trek. The Gurung and Magar villages in the trail give an insight into the tradition, culture, and lifestyle of these highland peoples. The trek is considered of the moderate level and is without much altitude gain, so it is not prone to Acute mountain sickness. 

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01:Kathmandu to pokhara by bus.
  • Day 02: Drive to Nayapul (1010m/1.5 hours) and trek to Ulleri. (1835m/5.5 hours.)
  • Day 03:Trek to Ghorepani (2850meters/5 hours.)
  • Day 04:Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m/1.5 hours) and trek to Tadapani. (2660m/4 hours.)
  • Day 05:Trek from Tadapani to sinuwa
  • Day 06:Trek to himalaya/ deurali
  • Day 07: Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)(4131m)
  • Day 08:Trek from ABC back to Sinuwa (2340m)
  • Day 09:Trek from Sinuwa to Jhinu Hill(2170m)
  • Day 10: Trek from Jhinu Hill to Nayapul (1070m), and then Drive back to Pokhara(884m)
  • Day 11:Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara (884m)

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01Kathmandu to pokhara by bus.Our guide will pick you from hotel to bus station. You will go together to Pokhara, it will be 6-7 hrs bus drive(200 k.m). You have free time around evening time. Or you can take flight, it will be 30 min flight.
  • Day 02 Drive to Nayapul (1010m/1.5 hours) and trek to Ulleri. (1835m/5.5 hours.)From Pokhara, it around one hour drive to Nayapul. After that you will pass a way through the bank of modi koha for a while till birethanti. after that hike to hile, tikhedhunga and all step climb up to ulleri.
  • Day 03Trek to Ghorepani (2850meters/5 hours.)From Ulleri, the path is a gentle ascent and we pass through rhododendron and oak forests to be in Banthanti. A couple of hours from banthanti and we will reach Ghorepani. Ghorepani stay is popular for the Poonhill hike which presents a spectacular view of the sunrise and a superb panoramic view of the annapurna and dhulagiri mountain ranges. Overnight stay in a guesthouse.
  • Day 04Hike up to Poon Hill (3210m/1.5 hours) and trek to Tadapani. (2660m/4 hours.)Today is a special day of our trekking. Early morning hike to Poonhill for about an hour. Poonhill is the place which offer wide range of Himalayan Panorama of Manaslu, Annapurna & Dhaulagiri mountain range. The sunrise over Himalaya is unbelievable. After having great time Poonhill, return to Ghorepani for breakfast and then continue our trek to Tadapani for overnight.
  • Day 05Trek from Tadapani to sinuwaAfter breakfast at Tadapani, we move down gradually along forests of rhododendrons, cross the Kimsung river and ascend to reach a Gurjung village. From here, a straight climb takes us to Chhomrong a beautiful village situated in the lap of the Annapurna region. After chhomrong, we will continues to sinuwa and overnight stay at a guest house.
  • Day 06Trek to himalaya/ deuraliThe walk from, to bamboo which is a Nice hike in the bamboo forest. Dovan to Himalaya is a silent one as big noises are not allowed in the jungle in regard to a temple sites along the way. The route first comprises bamboo forests and then changes to rhododendron forests and contains plenty of waterfalls and stream. Upon reaching Himalaya, clearings appear and glacier rivers are visible along the trail as we ascend to Hinku cave. After a short walk, the trail first drops to the river and then ascending again to reach Deurali that offers exotic views of the valley below. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
  • Day 07 Trek from Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)(4131m)From Deurali, the trail passes through a bank of river, and after a tedious climb, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Surrounded by snowcapped mountains on all sides, views of Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Himchuli etc are very rewarding. The way to ABC is wider with scanty vegetation. As the area is prone to avalanches, caution should be taken on possible dangers. Up from MBC, mountain view unveils to clarity. Annapurna Base Camp gives an awe-inspiring view of the snow covered mountains including the Annapurna range, Singuchuli, Macchhapuchhre, Tent Peak etc. Overnight stay at a guesthouse. Overnight stay at the base camp.
  • Day 08Trek from ABC back to Sinuwa (2340m)After viewing a beautiful sunrise from ABC, we head back following the same trail through MBC, Deurali, Himalaya, and Bamboo all the way to Sinuwa. Mostly downhill, the trail is an easy walk. Overnight stay at Sinuwa.
  • Day 09Trek from Sinuwa to Jhinu Hill(2170m)From Sinuwa, we move ahead to Chomorong. After a descent of about 45 min, we reach Jhinu. Jhinu is known for its natural Hot Spring where you can take a relaxing bath. The spring is a 30 min steep walk from the guesthouse. Overnight stay at the guesthouse.
  • Day 10 Trek from Jhinu Hill to Nayapul (1070m), and then Drive back to Pokhara(884m)Taking the route along the Modi Khola, the relaxing walk continues for about five hours as we reach Birethanti and then to Nayapul. From Nayapul, we drive back to Pokhara and stay overnight in a hotel.
  • Day 11Drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara (884m)Returning from Pokhara to Kathmandu, you can explore around the city. We have a small farewell dinner, celebration for your journey. Overnight stay at a hotel.
