About Trip

Kali Gandaki River Rafting offers the thrill of rafting to the adventure savvy with the scenic beauty of the region as an added treat. Originating from the Mustang region, the river rushes down between Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs carving one of the world’s deepest gorges. The three-day rafting trip is exciting for both experienced and novice rafters. Thrilling rapids encountered during the trip tests the skills of experienced rafters while the novice can take their time learning the techniques of maneuvering the raft for efficient descents. 

After thoroughly enjoying the white water rafting in the Kali Gandaki River you can opt to either return to Kathmandu, visit the Chitwan National Park or go for a trek to the popular Annapurna region for a few days.

Outline Itinerary

  • Day 01:An early morning drive for of four hours gets us to the put-in point near Beni.
  • Day 02:The second day is a mixed of adrenaline rush, calmness and spectacular scenery including views of Annapurna I and Himalchuli.
  • Day 03:A short raft from the campsite leadsto the holy village of Seti Beni.
  • Day 04:Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01An early morning drive for of four hours gets us to the put-in point near Beni. The route has a beautiful backdrop of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks as well as the sacred Machapuchare. After unloading all the equipment, a full safety briefing session follows. A relaxing lunch follows after which the guide will direct you to the start point of the rafting trip. The beginning of the journey encounters some class III rapids which works as a warm up for the team. After 10/15 minutes, the team has to step up to encounter 2 big class 4 rapids - Small Brother and Big Brother. The guide will provide instructions and make you work hard as a team to maneuver the raft efficiently. After scouting the rapid, the safety kayaks proceed first with the raft following. After encountering these two big rapids, a short wavy journey takes you to the Modi Khola confluence where you can choose the beach for the evening campsite.
  • Day 02The second day is a mixed of adrenaline rush, calmness and spectacular scenery including views of Annapurna I and Himalchuli.You will tackle many Class III sections and the challenging Class IV named REFUND. This river section is abundant with lush vegetation hanging along the cliffs and varied wildlife. The day’s camp is set at the beach below the village of Purti Ghat.
  • Day 03A short raft from the campsite leadsto the holy village of Seti Beni. The amazing formation of a house sized boulder in the confluence of the small tributary is from the deposition of the river. Confluences of rivers are considered holy places in the Hindu religion, hence this boulder is an important shrine to the local people living by the river. A great audience usually gathers to watch and listen as each team conquers the rapid that has formed around this holy place. The raft shortly ends after this and we load up the gear and prepare for the bus journey back to Pokhara.
  • Day 04Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu.The scenic drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu takes around four hours. You can take a short rest and join the celebration from Green Valley Nepal Treks on the successful completion of the journey.
