Gumba Samba is a monastery of Tibetan origin. This monastery is situated at left from the entrance gate of Muktinath Temple.

Shaligram

Another major attraction of the Muktinath Temple is the Kaligandaki river from where one can collect fossils of the Jurassic age. One can also buy these fossils from locals. Saligram, a black stone fossil found at the bank of Kali Gandaki River is considered sacred and when people find this shaligram they take them to their home and keep them in their Pooja room. The shaligram is considered to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
