A day hike is important for people who want to go for a long trek. At the beginning, acclimatized from Kathmandu hight because who comes from sea level, Kathmandu(1300meters) is high. So we suggest doing a short and nearest Nagarjun Jamacho Day Hike which is located northwest side of Kathmandu in Shivpuri nagarjun national park. Shivapuri nagarjun National park covered with the thick subtropical forest is a preferable place for rock climbing, Kathmandu valley views, Himalayas views, Langtang, and Ganesh Himal views.
This hike starts with 20 minutes of drive to mudkhu. after crossing the crowed of Kathmandu, we will be bottom of hills with green forest and we will get an entrance ticket. Entertaining 3 hours of the hike will pass through subtropical forest including Pine, Oak, Rhododendron. Along the way, we will see wild monkeys know as a white monkey and red monkey, different species of birds. Along the way, we meet different domestic and international tourists who go for a day trip. A small grassy clearing that faces south marks the completion of almost two-thirds of the climb, where the distant tower at the top of the hill is visible. The climb rest of the climb to the top is moderately steep which becomes strenuous towards the end of the Jamacho Peak (6300ft). Prayer flags, butter lamps, and small stupas can be seen around the place. The view of Kathmandu is probably hazy most of the time unless you get lucky with recent rain. Mountain views towards the north include Manaslu, Langtang, Ganesh, and many more. We hike down the same route and drive back to Thamel.
Nagarjun’s unique preservation of birds, mammals and vegetation makes up for a pleasant walk. Views of the Kathmandu valley, including Swayambhu and the Nuwakot district, is amazing. The summer palace of the Royal family turned into a museum adds to the historical significance of the place besides being a preferred site for meditation.
