Nepal’s weather is generally pleasant and the weather during the trekking season is somewhat more stable. The country levels is start from 60 m above the sea level to top of the world (Mt. Everest 8,848m ).The low-land Terai (south part of Nepal ) has hot temperatures. In the Himalayas region of Nepal there is sub-zero temperatures, but the sun can bring some warm during the day, even in the mountains. The temperature of Kathmandu goes below 1 Degree Celsius in winter and rises to an average of 32 Degree Celsius in summer.
There are four climatic seasons in Nepal:
The autumn season – September to November
The autumn season is the best trekking season in Nepal and officering excellent weather on trekking and wonderful mountain views. The weather is very clear and the mountain views are the best on autumn season. Early October through to late November is the best weather for trekking nepal.
The spring season – March, April, May
The spring season is the second finest trekking season and less crowded on the trekking trail. The temperature is quite moderate; especially the rhododendrons are in complete blossom and the mountain views are excellent. The temperatures are mildly warm in the lowlands and little cold at higher altitudes and the sky is clear and the mountain views are best.
The summer season – June, July, August
The summer season is the most preferable season to trek in the rain shadow areas like Mustang, Upper Manang, Dolpo and Simikot. These places are out of reach of the rain clouds because of the huge mountains and are unaffected by the monsoon. Summer season is also recommended for forest researchers and botanist. Like wise Tibet high dry plateaus are ideal for summer trekking, The Annapurna regions Jomsom part also significantly less rain areas and short trek in this areas are recommended for summer season. The advantages of summer trekking is you will find the trekking trails and villages have few trekkers and you can enjoy the solitude and beauty of the mountains without any crowds
The winter season - December to February
The weather is cool and the sky is clear with occasional snowfalls at higher elevations, the air is tinkling sharp and the stars have that crystal twinkle on winter season. Winter season is best for trekking in lower elevations generally below 3200m. The weather is at its finest and direst, great condition, in the mornings and nights are cold but daytime temperatures are mild when it is sunny. Low altitude trek to Annapurna region, LangtangHelambu region, Everest region and village tours. Even Everest base camp can be organized in winter.
